Lancaster Area Habitat for Humanity Endowment Fund
About the Organization
Founded in 1986, the Lancaster Area Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry that serves people in need, regardless of race or religion. This nonprofit organization builds, renovates and repairs homes, as well as revitalizes neighborhoods, throughout Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. Over the course of its 30 years, Lancaster Habitat constructed and repaired homes throughout Lancaster County, including Elizabethtown, Columbia, Ephrata and the Southwest section of Lancaster City. Its neighborhood revitalization efforts has led to local partnerships that work towards addressing the needs of struggling communities. Although a Christian Ministry, volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds are welcome to join Habitat’s mission of ending substandard housing. As a matter of policy, HFHI and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize, meaning that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
Why is endowment important to your mission?
Like Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), the organization’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. By supporting Habitat for Humanity, you can make a lasting difference in our community and transform lives. You can empower families, women and children with dignity, strength and stability. You can help a child do better in school and go on to college. That child will graduate, get a decent job, buy a house, start a family, and break the cycle of poverty forever. Join the movement today by volunteering or giving.
