About the Organization

Since 1993, Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue (DVGRR) has successfully placed over 3,200 Golden Retrievers into new homes throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We accept displaced Goldens of all ages, from puppyhood through senior, and work extensively with dogs who have survived the horrors of puppy mill life. We are nationally recognized for our Project Home Life program, which focuses on rehabilitation of these former puppy mill breeder dogs. We are also deeply committed to educating our adopters and the general public about the Golden Retriever breed, responsible dog ownership, pet overpopulation, and the horrors of puppy mills. We publish educational materials in print as well as online, plus give presentations to schools, civic organizations, and other interested groups on these subjects.

Why is endowment important to your mission?

“With the continued economic challenges facing our community, many otherwise loving pet owners are unable to provide financially for the well-being and healthcare needs of their dogs, thus turning to rescues such as DVGRR for help.  A high percentage of Goldens come to us in need of costly medical treatment as well as extensive behavior training. While these urgent situations confront us on a daily basis, we cannot lose sight of our future needs and future solvency. Our Ben’s Golden Vision Fund ensures that we can continue our commitment to the highest quality care for dogs in our program as well as develop new programs and services in the years to come.”
