Established by James W. and Sally C. Saxton, the purpose of this versatile “Opportunities Fund” is to support the Y in meeting the most critical community needs as determined on an annual basis.
Recognizing that community needs will change over time – and that the Y must remain creative and flexible in its approach to serving the mind, body and spirit of Lancaster - the Saxtons’ created a permanently endowed fund with the future in mind.
Example uses of funds may include, but are not limited to: direct financial assistance to youth and/or families; subsidizing youth development and afterschool programs; nurturing the Christian potential of children and serving as a resource to the local church community; supplying Bibles and other faith based materials for Y families; providing funds to realize opportunities or to address emerging needs aimed at strengthening and supporting families; or to provide youth and families with opportunities that otherwise might go unfunded.
