This scholarship was created in 1988 by Susan F. Weaver (formerly Swartz) in memory of her son, Stephen J. Swartz. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a senior at J.P. McCaskey High School who is registered to attend an accredited post-high school vocational technical or equivalent course of instruction.
