About the Organization

The Junior League of Lancaster (JLL) is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. The JLL pursues a wide spectrum of strategies and partnerships for long-term solutions beyond relieving the immediate needs that communities might have. This long-view mindset allows us to fulfill our mission of community impact in a meaningful and systemic way. As of June 2022, our current focus area is Food and Nutrition Accessibility. Our strategic mission within this realm is to positively impact the health and wellness of community members. The JLL is working on a multi-tiered initiative to break the cycle of inequitable food access in our community. With our work we aim to focus on nutrition education, food security and availability in an equitable and accessible way.

Why is endowment important to your mission?

Since the founding of the Junior League of Lancaster (JLL) in 1923, we have been a strictly volunteer, non-profit organization committed to developing the leadership potential of women to serve in improving the Lancaster community. Our endowment fund ensures the JLL is destined for financial stability and guarantees that our positive impact on the community will persist far into the future.
