AH-Ha Project Grants FAST FACTS: 

  • The Ah-Ha Project: Creative Solutions to Real Problems is the Lancaster County Community Foundation’s new Area of Opportunity that will guide its investment in Lancaster County for the next 5-10 years.
 
  • Ah-Ha Project! grants are awarded to qualified local nonprofits that propose a unique solution or a program that is new to Lancaster County.
 
  • Local research shows that youth programs, education, healthcare and innovation are the areas with the greatest potential for opportunity in Lancaster County. Organizations addressing these needs will receive the first Ah-Ha grants.
 
  • 100 Community Members participated in community meetings in 2010 to help identify Lancaster’s next ‘tipping point’ opportunity.
 
  • 250+ local nonprofit organizations attended an open meeting to learn about Ah-Ha grant opportunities.
 
  • Over 80 trained volunteers reviewed grants.
 
  • $973,455 in investment via the First Ah-Ha Project! grants announced Nov 17, 2011.
 
  • 26 Lancaster County nonprofit organizations will receive grants today in our 3rd 2011 grant cycle.
 
  • $2.5 million: Estimated total dollars invested by the Community Foundation in Lancaster County in 2011.
 
  • The next Ah-Ha grant opportunities will be announced February 2012.
