The Lancaster YMCA is partnering with the Community Foundation to help build its endowment.  Long time YMCA users, Jim and Sally Saxton, believe in the healthy development of the whole person that the Y promotes.  Now, they have committed to strengthening the future of the Y with an extraordinary gift to the YMCA endowment through the Community Foundation. 

They created the James W. and Sally C. Saxton Opportunity Fund to benefit the YMCA.  The fund will support the Y in meeting the most critical community needs as determined on an annual basis.  Recognizing that community needs will change over time - and that the Y must remain creative and flexible in its approach to serving the mind, body and spirit of Lancaster - the Saxtons' created a permanently endowed fund with the future in mind.  The fund may support youth and after school programs, nurturing the Christian potential of children, or strengthening and supporting families.
